Recipe of Stuffed Tomato or Bharwa Tamatar

Tomato is considered as the second most favorite vegetable and liked by most of the persons. Today we will be preparing a very yummy recipe of tomato called ‘Stuffed Tomato’.

These reddish colored vegetable can also be said a fruit. It can be cooked alone or can be used in vegetables.

Tomatoes are also used in ketchup, salads, flavoring agents, pizzas, hamburgers, soups and as a tastemaker in most of the dishes.

This bright colored veggie is not only great in taste but also offers a handful of health. It has many health benefits like its daily intake is very effective to aid obesity, cures skin problems like acne, wrinkles, aging signs etc, it is very good for vision and so on.

Tomatoes are not only used in dishes but we can also prepare some mouth-watering dishes by tomatoes. So let’s have a look how to prepare ‘Stuffed tomato’.

Ingredients for Stuffed tomato:-

  • Medium sized juicy tomatoes- 6

  • Cottage cheese-1/2 cup (grated)

  • Boiled and chopped green vegetables-1/2 cup

  • Chopped onions-1/2 cup

  • Green chilies chopped-2

  • Salt

  • Mustard oil- 2 tablespoon

  • Cumin powder- ½ tablespoon

  • Chat masala– ½ teaspoon

  • Black pepper– 1 pinch

  • Handful of coriander leaves for garnishing

  1. First of all, Put a cut on the head of tomato in a round shape so that the pulp can be taken out easily without any rupture in tomato

  2. Don’t throw the tomato pulp; it will be used as the part of stuffing.

  3. In a pan, heat the mustard oil and cook the chopped onions till it gets translucent and mid-brownish.

  4. Now in the same pan add chopped chilies and cook it for one minute.

  5. After this, add boiled and chopped vegetables, grated cheese, tomato pulp, salt, cumin powder, chat masala, black pepper and cook it for 2 minutes.

  6. After the mixture gets cool down, begin the stuffing process.

  7. Fill all the tomatoes with the prepared mixture.

  8. In a microwave, set the temperature of 200 degree Celsius and place it in and cook for 20 minutes.

  9. Finally, it is properly cooked. Serve hot with garnishing coriander leaves at the top. Enjoy it with chapattis, phulke or rice.
